Our vision: All of our young people in Africa should have access to advancement opportunities, resources, and networks to become the best people they can be for Africa and the world.

Who Are We

Our story begins in 2013, when the Pollination Project provided our founder, Shola Ajayi, with a $1,000 grant to pilot an arts and mentor-based program on Basic Human Rights for youths in Lagos, Nigeria.

She coined the program, Public Art Nigeria.

Today, this program is now known as The Initiative for Public Art in Africa or Public Art Africa; it is a youth-led nonprofit organization that sets out to bring arts education and mentorship opportunities to public/government schools with the support and guidance of the Ministry of Education.

Public Art Africa is a subsidiary of UR4Africa Project Inc. a 501c3 based in Brooklyn, NY.
